I received an Eric Dyson quote last Wednesday morning that said, “Rosa sat so Martin could walk; Martin walked so Jesse could run; Jesse ran so Obama could win”.  I must admit there was some thing very different about November 5, 2008. It felt as if the air was blowing in a different direction or maybe the sun shun a bit brighter that day who knows could be a number of things but the one thing I knew for sure was that this day was far different from days gone by.

It’s no secret that on Tuesday November 4, 2008 something happened that absolutely no one but God saw coming. I wonder if the slaves who toiled brick by brick ever joked that someday a Blackman was going to walk through the front doors of that building. I can’t help but wonder if there was at least one child that stood there and watched as his father cover the last coat of paint on the standing pillars 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue say to himself ;one day I am going to own that house.

They say on November 4 histories were made as if Affonso I King of the Kongo (1506-1540), Akhenation The Creator of Monotheism (1375-1358 B.C), Askia Toure King Of Songhay (1493-1529) (just to name a few) as if these great kings and queens never exists. http://africanamericanempowerment.blogspot.com/2008/02/great-african-kings-and-queens.html.  I heard people saying that for the first time they can live in a world where they can tell their children you could someday be president and not just an athlete, physician or musician. The funny question about that is I wonder who told young Obama that he could one day become president and if someone actually did had they understood he would have taken it literally would they still have told him or would they have tried to convince otherwise.

They say President elect Obama made history, I personally believe that when a person or a people come from a lineage so full of greatness it would be foolish to expect anything but; I say president elect Obama went full circle into fulfilling destiny.
